Whether you got out to see the premiere of Avenger’s Endgame last night or not, Google has offered its users a fun little Easter Egg to check out.
Here’s how you can check it out for yourself:
1) Google the word “thanos”
2) In the knowledge panel on the right side of the screen, click the Affinity Gauntlet (golden glove).
3) Sit back and enjoy
In case you’re not up to date on the Avengers, Thanos is the supervillain in Avengers End Game.
Without giving away any spoilers for the film. After you click the Gauntlet, it will snap and many of the search listings on the page will appear to disintegrate. For those of you that have seen the movie, this will all make sense.
Google’s public liaison of search tweeted this; “it was just a thing we thought would be fun.” Other sources , like Cyrus Shepard, have eluded that this might be a sneak peek into a new strategy Google is working on.
Whether the Thanos Easter Egg was just for fun or a sneak peek into a new Google strategy remains a mystery. Until we know for sure, we will continue to monitor Google’s feed for any updates that happen.
